The Forest Service will lower the pool depth, or water level, at Lower Sherando Lake, starting Monday, December 19, 2022, through late February 2023, in order to maintain and enhance recreational opportunities. The public may observe lower water levels because of this.
In partnership with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Lower Sherando Lake will maintain its schedule of eight trout stockings between October 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
